It’s not an everyday occurrence that we can stand in the presence of those who have selflessly served our country and have personally sacrificed so much. The Infinite Hero weekend on July 23-24 provided us with many special military guests who inspired and moved us with their own stories and details of their involvement with helping other to heal and overcome their personal circumstances. The special guests included veterans Morgan Luttrell, Jason Redman, Alex Oliver, Gary Linfoot, Daniel Casara, Daniel Crenshaw, Brandon Young, Michael Wilson, WWII Veteran Bill Haligas, NHRA driver (and former Air Force sergeant) Jack Beckman, along with Nashville’s New North.
The Infinite Hero Foundation, the Community of Ravenna, our Club membership, friends, family and business partners and sponsors have collectively embraced supporting this Invitational event. Every year our goals are to raise awareness of the issues – mental, physical and emotional – and to provide funding to help make a tangible impact on the lives of our military veterans and their families.
Our 4th Annual Ravenna Invitational was an outstanding event. We had 124 golfers at the Monday event, over 300 attendees at the Sunday BBQ and over $350,000 in contributions! All of the donations have a significant impact on the amount of grants that the Foundation can issue. This year we had an expanded list of sponsors that included Oakley, Deloitte, Sterling Custom Homes, Aim Lock, TLC from the Heart, Thomas Sattler Homes, and 3Bear Energy. The event would not happen without the help of 40+ volunteers.
We are grateful to all those that contributed to the event, the volunteers and the staff of The Club at Ravenna who went above and beyond to make this our best event to date.
