DENVER (June 11, 2015) – The Club at Ravenna announces that Medal of Honor Recipient Sal Giunta and PGA Pro Bubba Watson will be the guests of honor on July 27 at the Second Annual Ravenna Invitational supporting Infinite Hero Foundation (www.infinitehero.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing critical funding to programs that combat mental and physical injuries facing returning military heroes and their families.
Proceeds from last year’s inaugural event were close to $100,000, and Ravenna hopes to exceed that number in 2015. Ravenna members Neil Duncan, an Afghanistan veteran and longtime supporter of the Foundation, and Kevin Collins, managing partner at The Club at Ravenna, brought the event to Ravenna for the first time in 2014.
“The golf participants and the Ravenna community enthusiastically supported the Invitational in its first year. We cannot support our veterans enough for their service and sacrifice to our country,” Collins said. “Due to the importance of the cause and its initial success, we are committed to making this The Club at Ravenna’s flagship charity event.”
Held at the Club’s award-winning 18-hole Jay Morrish Championship course, the event is available for up to 22 foursomes to participate and will include a fireside chat with Sal Giunta, Bubba Watson and event co-chairman Neil Duncan. The tournament is open to registered participants only. To register, visit http://infinitehero.org/events/ravenna-invitational (password: GOLF).
Infinite Hero is proud to have Oakley, Inc. as its founding corporate partner. For decades, Oakley has supported the military by developing technologies that improve the safety, performance and comfort of those whose lives depend on their gear. In turn, the support the company provides covers a large portion of the Foundation’s overhead, allowing the majority of funds received to go directly into grants. To date, Infinite Hero has donated nearly $2 million to 10 different service organizations providing critical support in the areas of mental and physical recovery.
“Infinite Hero was founded to drive innovation, accessibility and collaboration among organizations combating the most critical issues facing the returning military community,” said Infinite Hero Foundation president and Oakley CEO, Colin Baden. “We are honored to have the support of like-minded partners like The Club at Ravenna and Bubba Watson to help continue our progress and commitment to driving change and long-term solutions to improve the lives of veterans across America.”
Sponsorships are available and include the opportunity to golf with special guests Giunta and Watson. For more information, please contact Anna Fine at The Club at Ravenna at 720.956.1600 or afine@ravennagolf.com.
