CHAIRMAN & CEO, 5.11 TACTICAL
Tom Davin is a former U.S. Marine Corps captain who rose to top jobs in the food business before his current post as Chairman and CEO of 5.11 Tactical, a leading innovator of tactical gear for military professionals, law enforcement and fire and emergency medical services. Previously, Davin was CEO of Panda Restaurant Group (Panda Express) for five years, in which he more than doubled company-owned stores to 1,300 and grew annual revenue to $1.25 billion. From 1991 to 2000 he was a senior executive with PepsiCo and its Taco Bell unit, serving as the fast-food chain’s Chief Operating Officer 1997- 2000. In his four-year stint in the Marines, he served as a company commander in the 1st and 3rd Recon Battalions, later becoming an infantry tactics instructor at the Marines’ officer-training school in Quantico, VA. He earned an MBA from Harvard University and a BA from Duke University. Davin is a Board member of the Infinite Hero Fund. He and his wife, Molly, have endowed an athletic scholarship for Duke Lacrosse, where Tom Davin was a team co-captain.
