CO-FOUNDER & CTO, EKSO BIONICS
Russ Angold has devoted much of his life to advancing technology aimed at restoring the ability to walk to people who have been told they will never walk again: paraplegics, quadriplegics, cerebral palsy patients and more. For more than a decade Angold has been developing wearable robotics, earning patents for human augmentation and transforming the “exoskeleton” from sci-fi into practical products. As co-founder of Ekso Bionics and president of Ekso Labs, he continues to advance the technology for a wide variety of applications. Angold blends backgrounds in industrial automation, consumer products and construction. He is a registered Professional Mechanical Engineer and holds a bachelor’s degree in BioResource and Agricultural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University. Angold also is the founding president and chairman of the Bridging Bionics Foundation, dedicated to distributing exoskeletons to community centers to “turn no into yes” and let the paralyzed stand up and walk again.
